Tour Overview
Tsahkaljärvi Science Trail takes you back in time and into the future. You have the opportunity to visit a Stone Age site, an ancient Sámi site, and a Sámi camp site used during the 1960–70s. On your hike, you will also learn about the insects that are born in the small ponds located along the trail, how climate change is modifying fish populations in the lakes, and how reindeer grazing protects arctic plants.
