Tour Overview

Ashland has always been a railroad town, but there were also people who saw the future in other forms of transportation. Among them was James Napoleon Luck, and in 1916, he saw a future in cars. Today the fourth generation of his family continues to run the business he started, Luck Motor Company. This tour will take you from three businesses near Town Hall west of the railroad tracks, to the train station, and then to three businesses east of the tracks near the current Post Office. Most of the original buildings are gone, but it’s easy to imagine the activities and conversations that took place at each of these locations. All of these businesses helped Ashlanders on the move whether by horse, train or automobile.
