Cove Road Scenic Overlook

From the Visitor's Center, turn left on Garrett Highway (US-219, North). Follow 219 N 9.1 miles. Turn left onto Cove Road, located just past Northern Garrett High School. Continue on Cove Road. You will see signs for the Scenic Overlook located on the left.

Youghiogheny River

Turn left on Friendsville Addison Road at the T intersection toward Friendsville. Friendsville Addison Road becomes 2nd Street once in Friendsville. There is public access in Friendsville to the Youghiogheny River.

Friendsville

From Friendsville Addison Road, turn right onto Maple Street. Head east on Maple Street toward 1st Avenue. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in the town park located next to the designated "Wild & Scenic" Youghiogheny River or find a tasty bite to eat in town. Friendsville is also home to the Friend Family Heritage Museum which includes a historical library and located in a former bank building. Find a tour guide or outfitter and book a family float trip, kayaking or whitewater adventure; or take a 2-mile hike on Kendall Trail at Morris Avenue and Oak Street.

Meshack Browning Grave Site

Turn right on 1st Avenue. Turn left on MD-42/Friendsville Road toward 219 South/Garrett Highway. The Meshack Browning grave site is .25 miles south of Hoyes Road, on the East side. There is a small turn off to park a car. From here, merge on to US-219 South and return to the Visitor's Center.
