1. BREE FRASER

Bree is an oil painter, exploring colour and intricate brushwork while trying to convey the personality and individuality of our native birds. Originals and prints available, works in progress as well as finished pieces.

2. CHARLOTTE GRAHAM

Contemporary Māori artist Charlotte Graham will be offering an insight into her practice which includes kilnformed studio glass work, prints and paintings. See work in progress for her upcoming 2023 exhibition.

3. CLAIRE FRITH

A lively studio full of surrealist dolls, paintings and drawings inspired by the inner realm and Mother Nature. Claire will be creating dolls during the event, with special one off artworks and prints available to purchase.

4. DANIEL BLANSHARD

Daniel uses highly crafted stainless steel to create retro reflective works of art. His latest work blends the boundaries of sculpture and painting to create unique wall sculptures.

5. DEREK MARCH

Derek loves living close to nature, and concern for the conservation of the natural environment is reflected in his work. He will be showing a selection of past work, drawings, paintings and sculpture. All work is for sale.

6. ELIZA DONALD

Eliza Donald is a multi-media artist who has exhibited in London and Barcelona. She is a painter, ceramicist and jeweller. There will be limited editions of ceramics, jewellery and paintings available to purchase.

7. GUY CLIFFORD

Guy is a watercolour and graphite artist. The subjects he chooses are for no other reasons than to give pleasure and to celebrate the medium he is working in. Guy looks forward to converting his garage into a gallery and welcoming visitors. Original framed and unframed works for sale.

8. HELEN DEAN

Helen Dean is an abstract artist who creates beautiful colourful, expressive, original paintings. Helen will have some small and large artworks available to buy direct from her studio.

9. JENNY TOMLIN

Jenny has a photographic darkroom and works with pinhole and alternative processes. There will be works in progress as well as pieces for sale. Visitors will see demonstration of pinhole cameras, suitable for adults and children.

10. JOLIE HUTCHINGS

Visit my chinoiserie studio where 18th century European and East Asian styles collide creating whimsical bird and botanical scenes. Lovers of flora and fauna with an interest in home interiors will enjoy this style. Original works and prints will be available for sale.

11. JUDI CLEMENTS

Judi creates jewellery inspired by the power and magic of nature, the circles of life, the beauty of bone, the mystery of feathers, and the treasure of the sea. All ages are welcome, including young children with adult supervision.

12. KARIN URMERSBACH-NIERSBACH

Karin has been working as a glass artist since 1989, including lamp shades, windows, mirrors, sculptures and jewellery. The curvilinear shapes found in nature form the basis for her functional, contemporary glass art. Visitors to Karin’s studio will see her tiffany/copper-foil work being demonstrated.

13. KATE MCINTYRE

Kate McIntyre works mainly in porcelain using a handcarving technique, inspired by patterns and structures found in nature. Kate has been a finalist in the Portage and WaiClay Ceramic Awards, and an Artist in Residency at the European Ceramic WorkCentre in the Netherlands. Coffee provided.

14. LIAM DOWNES

Liam has enjoyed successful exhibitions, painted commissions for a global audience and run a high street gallery. Working in the design and illustration industry has allowed Liam to explore many styles across countless mediums over the years. Visitors can enjoy tea and scones in the garden.

15. MAMAKAN

Mamakan is a botanical artist working with art, cuisine and nature – described as 'GastroGeography' – the taste of a place. Her sensory artworks and collaborative projects amplify nature and aim to create a sense of belonging and wellbeing.

16. MARIA MCSPORRAN

Maria makes colourful, contemporary one-of-a-kind hand built pottery. Visitors will be able to view work in progress and demonstrations. There will be work for sale and discounted seconds available.

17. MARIA PHILIPSEN OWENS

Maria makes contemporary paintings and sculptures. She works with clay and mostly makes human figures. In her paintings she enjoys using a mix of acrylic, pencils and oil pastels. All ages can make their mark on a big canvas and see how a sculpture is being made, plus enjoy a hot drink.

18. MARIA PODSKREBKO

Maria moved to New Zealand from Russia in 2011. Since 2016 she has been making niobium, titanium and silver hand-made jewellery under her brand Awaroa Rd Jewellery. In her latest work she explores a combination of pearls with different metals, and ways of creating texture.

19. MEGHANN STEWART

Meghann Stewart has returned to her roots in Titirangi after many years away. She is a narrative oil painter who explores our connection with the world and our internal sense of peace and belonging.

20. MELISSA HASTINGS

Melissa Hastings is a multi media designer currently working in ceramics and print-making. Melissa will be working on a new sculptural piece during the open studio. One-off pieces, seconds and special limited edition pieces will be available to purchase amongst the peaceful apple orchards of Oratia.

21. MONIQUE ENDT

Monique is an established artist and sells her work all over the globe. She has different styles of work with kiwi birds and trees influenced by surrealism and symbolism. There will be large works on show and prints, plus cups of tea. Plenty of parking down the drive with room to turn around.

22. NAOMI SHINGLER

Naomi is a multimedia artist working in watercolour, ink and acrylic paintings, as well as typography. Visit her studio overlooking her garden and enjoy tea and coffee while you relax and view her exhibition. She will be joined in her studio by Maria Shingler.

23. RACHAEL SHIELDS

Rachel works mainly in photography and occasionally drawing with mixed media, focusing on the everyday beauty in the world. Prints will be available to purchase in a number of sizes to suit different spaces and budget. Refreshments will be available.

24. RACHEL CARTER

Rachel is a potter who works on the wheel with porcelain and stoneware clays. She creates thoughtful and refined objects that are designed to be enjoyed every day. Visitors will see works at every stage of the making process, alongside ceramics available to purchase, plus tea or coffee

25. RONJA SCHIPPER

Ronja's up-bicycled jewellery creations made from inner tubes have been turning heads since 2015. Come chat about the waste-to-value movement and leave with one of her unique pieces. Special one-off pieces for sale, plus enjoy some home baking (while it lasts).

26. SEFTON RANI

Sefton uses paint skins to create collage works that he calls urban tapa which point to his Cook Island heritage. Works in progress and for sale will be on view, with an opportunity to handle the dry paint material used to create the work.

27. SHERRYN EASTMOND

Sherryn likes to forage and upcycle materials to add to her outdoor and indoor ceramic art pieces, inspired by her environment and connection of all, currently creating mood lighting pieces and totems for your garden. Visitors will see works in progress and a demonstration of techniques.

28. SIMON LEWIS-WARDS

Simon is a sculptor who works predominantly in ceramics and cast glass, and is best known for his playful interpretations of iconic New Zealand candy. Demonstrations over the weekend, including a special one-off demonstration of Simon making a large bubble wrap piece.

29. SOFIA ATHINEOU

Sofia’s latest glass works are organic forms that capture the movement of wind, fire and water, changed by the play of light inside the colourful glass. Sofia will demonstrate the process of glass casting, plus there will be a display of glass work.

30. STEVE TOLLESTRUP

Steve works primarily in oils and acrylic with atmospheric presence in his landscapes and portrait work. A visit to his Opanuku studio is an opportunity to see a compact and fully featured workspace and gallery, and to meet the artist. Artworks available for sale on the day, children welcome.

31. TUULA FAIRE

Tuula paints in acrylic and mixed media, from abstract drawings and paintings to semi-realistic paintings, and collages of seashells.

32. ZOE NASH

Zoe is a multi-disciplinary abstract artist celebrating process, colour and play. Discounted unique artworks will be for sale, with an insight into the making process by watching the artist in her studio, and seeing works in progress.

33. ANNA CRICHTON & KATIE SMITH

Anna Crichton is an award-winning illustrator and ceramicist. Books, paper and woodblock prints will be for sale. Katie Smith runs a textile screen-printing practise, Smitten textiles, printing limited edition designs on linen fabric, for a range of homewares and artworks.

34. BRENDA MCEWAN & LORRAINE NELSON

Brenda McEwan works in acrylic on canvas. It is her philosophy to have fun and enjoy her art.Lorraine Nelson works mostly with acrylic on canvas, using different techniques, leaning more toward abstract creations. Visitors will have an opportunity to view works, and chat to the artists about their practice.

35. DESMOND BURDON & PAULINE MCCOY

Desmond's latest works are a collaboration of painting, layering of images, and montage of effects. Pauline is an established potter, and teaches pottery at Auckland Studio Potters and Kumeu Arts Centre. Cards, prints and originals available for purchase. Light refreshments offered.

36. JEANNIE & ANDREW VAN DER PUTTEN

Jeannie hand-draws designs on cloth, and will have a limited range of batik kimonos and shirts available, plus a range of wall tiles and earthenware platters.Andrew is a potter, and makes a full range of domestic earthenware and salt-glazed stoneware.

37. LEN & PAM BYLES TIRIHANGA KAKARIKI STUDIO

Len Byles works with wood and native timbers creating many unique one-off hand-crafted pieces. Pam Byles paints using water colours, creating beautiful paintings of the New Zealand bush, using the natural bush around her for inspiration.

38. PAULINE MARTIN & BOB MARTIN

Pauline creates humorous animals in clay, paints animals and local landscapes in watercolour and oil from her studio overlooking Huia bay.Bob will demonstrate his homemade pendulum driven Harmonogragh drawing machine and display a range of driftwood bowls and kitchen boards.

Award-winning ceramic artist Karen Kennedy will be joined by Neena Buksh’s tableware pottery and home made pickles and chutneys, plus Vera Limmer’s paintings.

Flowlines Studio, offering artists Nicky Hartley (painter, illustrator) , Emma Hinton (writer, art), Guatyen Koh (Mettaville Journals), Yoko Onishi (micromacrame jewellery).Visitors will have the opportunity to view latest works in progress, with workshops and demonstrations throughout the day for all ages. Dean’s landscape art reflects his energy, passion and intimate connection to the New Zealand landscape.Rudi is a sculptor and works with copper, bronze and other metals, inspired by New Zealand native flora and fauna.Helga is a professional jeweller, working in sterling silver, gold, copper, semi precious stones, pearls, and glass.Celeste is a painter working in guache, and creating sea gardens with New Zealand shells and resin.

James Watson – From inside a bubbleJames is a part-time tutor and full-time artist who lives with a disability called fibromyalgia, and has lived experience of depression. Over the various lockdowns, like many creatives, James took the time to create.From inside a bubble will shine the light on the unsung heroes of the film industry - the directors, writers and creative geniuses who bring movies to the screen, enriching all of our lives.This is the first exhibition of its kind and we can’t wait to share 21 drawings of influential, personally inspiring movie directors with you.

Brendon Leung specialises in painting which explores the relationships between qualities of found materials, paint, and other unconventional painting materials which come together in spontaneous ways to evoke contemplative and self-reflective states within the viewer.Leung will be working towards the end of his Karekare residency and will have works in progress on display.

46. TITIRANGI POTTERS

Titirangi Potters is a vibrant pottery club, located below the Titirangi Community House. Members, both amateurs and accomplished potters, take part in local and national exhibitions throughout New Zealand, and work in a wide range of ceramic styles.Visit our studio for wheel throwing and handbuilding demonstrations suitable for all ages. Experienced potters will be present to answer any pottery making or firing related questions. Wood Bay Studio runs child and adult pottery classes and will be displaying work, also found at their online shop.Jenny Coyle creates quirky one-off garden totem poles, thrown bowls and other versatile pieces. Rich Monk creates unique, functional and reusable pieces with gorgeous glazes.
