As you walk towards thepath on the right hand side and through the second gate, you will pass residential gardens and soon you will see the stately steps of the Charleston Library Society across King St., and the third gate.

The patterned gardens in front of the Library Society hint to the more formal garden of the Gibbs. The topiary elements and structured lines are a nod to the inspiration for the Gateway Walk, a peaceful garden in Paris that the garden club president visited in the 1920s.

Cross Meeting St to the Circular Church, our 5th stop
The Circular Church, renowned for the Jazz Vespers Worship services, sits on Meeting St, across from the Gibbes Museum Gateway. Swing open the gate to follow bricklined paths to the gates at the back of the grounds. One can see St Phillip's Church steeple rising up in the distance on Church St.
