The Second Gate

As you walk towards thepath on the right hand side and through the second gate, you will pass residential gardens and soon you will see the stately steps of the Charleston Library Society across King St., and the third gate.

Third Gate On King St.

Library Society Gardens

The patterned gardens in front of the Library Society hint to the more formal garden of the Gibbs. The topiary elements and structured lines are a nod to the inspiration for the Gateway Walk, a peaceful garden in Paris that the garden club president visited in the 1920s.
